Discover your True Identity 1

Scripture:

“Put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” — Ephesians 4:24 (ESV)

This entire month, our conversations have centred on purity.

But it’s important to remind ourselves that holiness or purity is not a set of hard and annoying rules God forces down our throats.

Holiness is our original design — it’s the way we were created to be.

This is true because God made us in His image and likeness, and the summation of everything God is, is that He is HOLY.

If God is holy, then it suffices to say that we were also created as holy beings.

So the call to holiness is really a call to reconnect to your originality.

It’s a call to embrace your true self as created by God and to wrench out of your life everything that does not align with your God-given identity.

What areas of your life no longer align with the identity God originally designed for you?

Prayer

Lord, help me see myself the way You see me. I reject every false label and embrace the identity of holiness You have given me. Strengthen me to walk daily in who I truly am in You. Amen.
